Hello from Steph + Everett

We are Steph + Everett, partners in life + love and we are the new owner/director of Market Collective.

Steph's creative roots trace back to Montreal where she spent the better part of the 00’s studying opera, touring + playing in bands, teaching voice, and working in some of Mtl’s best restaurants. Taking over MC + bringing people together across the spectrum of music, art, food + beverage is super exciting for Steph, especially after having moved away from her own small community of incredible weirdos + turning her attention to growing some little weirdos of her own (shoutout to our kids Finlay, Ophelia, + Maxwell).

Steph spends her days in the non-profit world managing a high school completion program for vulnerable youth and is dedicated to social justice, + anti-oppressive practices across all aspects of her life.

Everett has been bringing the MC Skatepark to life for several years and is a long time educator, advocate, skateboarder, artist + father. He has a passion for working with communities + individuals facing marginalization + rethinking the systems we live within. After years of work in the public education system + continued work in both the private + non-profit sector, he is beyond stoked by the opportunity to connect with + promote local artists, culture + commerce.

We are so full of gratitude for Angel + the incredible community she has fostered + invited us all into over the last 13+ years. We hope to continue her legacy of creating platforms for local entrepreneurs, artists + creatives in the City of Calgary.

MC's History

What began as a vision to promote local arts and culture in 2008 has now evolved into a platform that engages and provides positive growth to the creative community. Founded by Angela Dione and Angel Guerra, Market Collective was among the first to bring an artist market to Calgary that met the demands of growing entrepreneurs. Our first market was held in the historic Carpenter’s Union Hall in Kensington, and we have now occupied many unique spaces across the city’s landscape.

To date, Market Collective has worked with thousands of local creatives, ensuring that these artists keep 100% of sales as a sustainable support for their practices and small businesses. The team currently consists of 12 unique individuals who work together to provide a piece of cultural identity for the city of Calgary.

Join us at the BMO Centre on December 9-11 + December 16-18 for the 2022 MC Holiday Series.

Mission + Vision

Market Collective exists to showcase the works of artists, artisans, designers, and musicians and to strengthen the community of Calgary. We strive to provide a successful platform for local creatives and to host events and initiatives that are inclusive, multi-generational, warm and engaging.

Market Collective invites the collaboration of other organizations to further support and encourage the city within a community-building structure. We strive towards creating a space where Calgarians can support local purchasing, strengthen community ties, and be exposed to the talent and artistic drive that Calgary and our country holds.

Since the beginning we have always stayed true to our passion - Community building through the arts.
