Rules & FAQ

What are the Hours of Operation? What time is set-up?

Hours of Operation:

Friday: 4:00pm – 9:00pm

Saturday: 10:00am – 6:00pm

Sunday: 10:00am – 6:00pm

Set up:

Thursday: TBD

Friday: TBD

Saturday : 9:00am – 9:45am

Sunday : 9:00am – 9:45am

We ask that artists and food vendors are finished setting up by 3:45pm on the Friday of the event date. Doors open on Friday at 4:00pm, and at that point every space should be completely ready. Remember that there are going to be many other artists and musicians setting up, so it’s necessary to arrive on time.

Leaving early:

We have a policy that artists should not leave before the end of the event. If there is a pressing concern, or emergency, please inform us at the event before packing up. If there is no valid reason, this will affect your involvement with the MC in the future.

Where is the venue located?

The event is located at the The BMO Centre Halls B+C. The address is 20 Round Up Way SE

Should I bring anything else for my table?

Yes! We encourage all artists to bring anything you want to decorate your space. Table cloths, shelves, anything!

What time does the Market Collective end?

The Market Collective runs until 6pm on Sunday, at which time we will start take down.

What form of payment is there at the Market Collective?

Because artists and food vendors keep 100% of their commission, artists are responsible for their own payments.  Please bring any systems that you use and your own float! There will be ATMs available on-site for people to withdraw money. We have extra Squares available if you forget or break yours at the event as well.

What if I need to cancel my table?

To obtain a full refund, artists and food vendors must cancel no later than 6 weeks before the event date. A $50 administration fee will be charged on all refund requests.

How do we know what table is ours?

We will have a floor plan set up and copies will be available at the entrance of the space. Find your name and you will find your corresponding number.  Every table is numbered and there’s also a floor plan that shows the tables and their numbers.

Is my work/equipment safe to leave overnight?

Yes, the building is a secure and safe space to confidently leave your work or equipment overnight. However, please note that Market Collective is not liable for lost or stolen items.

Cancellation due to COVID-19

In the event that I contract COVID-19 and cannot attend the event dates for which I am scheduled, I understand and agree to provide proof of a Positive COVID-19 Test to Market Collective to be eligible to receive a full refund of my fees. Should I choose not to provide proof of a Positive COVID-19 Test to the event organizers, I understand that I will not have my fees refunded.

In the event of cancellation due to provincial restrictions, MC will offer a full refund to each artisan

Jury Criteria

Your work should be thoughtfully designed and created with a high level of craftsmanship. It is finished, professional, and consistent.

We want to support creatives from our city, province, and country. Your work must be locally made or locally designed.

Your photos are polished and show off your work in the best possible light. Your booth set-up is eye-catching and expresses your unique identity.

Your price range falls within the normal range for MC. We look for work that fits the market context and does not undervalue your work while also remaining accessible for our visitors.

We want to see change and progression in your work. We like those who show their ability to evolve over time.

We want to see engaging personalities that create a fun atmosphere. MC is not just a market, it's a community.

Your work stands out from others in the same category. We look for innovation and strive for a diverse market with no saturation in any one category.

Thanks so much for your support.
